Qatar Official Links Global Economic Growth to Regional Stability
Minister Ahmad bin Mohammed al-Sayed emphasizes that international trade and investment require a foundation of peace.

During the United Nations-led World Investment Forum held in Doha, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, Ahmad bin Mohammed al-Sayed, issued a strong appeal for enhanced international cooperation. He argued that the current global economic landscape is being fundamentally reshaped by geopolitical shifts, making the pursuit of stability more critical than ever for the future of commerce.
Minister al-Sayed stressed that long-term investment and trade prosperity are inextricably linked to the presence of a secure environment. According to the minister, the potential for economic growth cannot be fully realized in regions plagued by conflict, as peace serves as the essential bedrock for sustainable development.
His remarks come at a time of heightened regional tension, marked by ongoing conflicts involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. These geopolitical challenges have created a fragile atmosphere for global markets, prompting Qatari officials to advocate for diplomatic solutions and dialogue as the primary pathways to de-escalation and regional security.
By prioritizing stability, Qatar aims to foster an environment where international partnerships can thrive. The minister’s message underscores a broader commitment to using mediation and cooperation to mitigate risks, ensuring that the global investment climate remains resilient against the pressures of ongoing international disputes.
