A targeted shooting at a Spirit Halloween store in Fairfield, California, resulted in the death of a 31-year-old woman and left six others injured on Friday night. Authorities identified the deceased as Constance Hages, and family members have confirmed she was pregnant at the time of the attack. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. within the Solano Town Center, sending shockwaves through the community on the eve of Halloween.
Police investigators believe the violence was a targeted incident involving a single suspect. While the investigation remains ongoing, authorities are currently reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence to identify the individual responsible for the act. As of Saturday, no arrests had been made, and the suspect remains at large.
Emergency responders transported the six surviving victims to local hospitals for treatment. Medical reports indicate that three male victims, aged 16, 19, and 32, were listed in critical condition, while a 23-year-old man was reported to be in critical but stable condition. Two other men, aged 19 and 43, received treatment for their injuries and have since been released.
In response to the tragedy, the Solano Town Center canceled its planned trick-or-treating events.
