Important role of NLC in maritime reforms, monitoring of port activities through modern system

With the support of NLC, movement in coastal shallow water areas has been completely deregulated under barge operation Freedom. Through barge operation, goods are transferred from one place to another through large boat-like vessels in shallow coastal areas.

NLC is ensuring monitoring and safe movement of freight vehicles through modern transit and tracking system while a state-of-the-art coast-to-coast radar network has also been established under Vessel Traffic Management System for effective monitoring of port activities.

NLC has brought together necessary skills related to port activities and relevant government institutions on one platform. An important role is also being played in improving procedures related to port affairs through effective coordination between institutions.

Through institutional coordination, modern technology and effective monitoring, the process of improvement in Pakistan's maritime sector is being further accelerated.
