Horrific collision between passenger bus and van in Lasbela, 12 people dead, 22 injured

Condition of 7 injured in accident is critical, in-charge Edhi Lasbela Dr. Abdul Hakeem Lasi

Quetta: As result of horrific collision between passenger bus and van near Othal Point in Lasbela district of Balochistan, 12 people died.

Police sources confirmed that bus involved in accident was going from Lasbela to Karachi. Collision occurred between both vehicles near Othal Point resulting in heavy loss of life.

As soon as information of incident was received, police, rescue teams, district administration and local people reached spot. Injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospital through ambulances.

According to in-charge Edhi Lasbela Dr. Abdul Hakeem Lasi, condition of 7 out of 22 injured people is critical, who have been shifted to Trauma Center Karachi.

Police said that injured are being provided medical assistance and details about their condition will emerge later. According to police, investigation has been started to determine causes of accident.

Traffic flow on National Highway was affected which police continued efforts to restore. This tragedy once again highlights seriousness of traffic accidents on highways of Balochistan.

Authorities have appealed to citizens for careful driving and strict adherence to traffic laws.

Further details and identification of dead and injured will be officially announced by police and district administration, process of treatment of injured and handing over bodies to heirs is underway.
