Deer Crashes Through North Carolina Laundromat

A typical Tuesday at the Wishy Washy Laundry in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, took an unexpected turn when a deer suddenly breached the facility. Security footage captured the animal sprinting across the parking lot before it collided with a woman exiting the building and subsequently smashed through a glass window. The incident created a scene of intense disruption as the animal navigated the interior of the laundromat.

Once inside, the deer moved through the business, at one point climbing onto the laundry equipment. Customers and staff scrambled to avoid the animal during the encounter, which the owner described as a period of total mayhem that lasted approximately two minutes. The deer eventually managed to exit the premises through the same broken window it had used to enter.

Corey Pendergrass, the owner of the laundromat, admitted he was initially skeptical when he received the call from an employee reporting the incident. He noted that he had to verify the situation himself before fully grasping the reality of the event. Pendergrass characterized the occurrence as a one-in-a-million event that was entirely unforeseen.

Despite the significant property damage caused by the animal, there were no injuries reported among the customers or staff present. The business underwent a brief period of cleanup and furniture rearrangement following the intrusion. The damaged window was repaired by a local contractor, and the laundromat successfully resumed normal operations within 24 hours of the incident.
