Attack on police station by unknown armed men in Chagai, building destroyed with explosives

During attack several security cameras installed in Yak Mach bazaar were also destroyed by firing

Quetta: In remote area Yak Mach of district Chagai of Balochistan unknown armed men attacked Police Station Yak Mach this morning and completely destroyed building of police station with heavy explosive material.

According to SHO of Police Station Yak Mach at around 4:30 am today armed men targeted police station. They took over police station, installed explosive material and turned building into pile of debris with blast.

There was no loss of life in incident and all police personnel remained safe.

On other hand according to security sources during attack several security cameras installed in Yak Mach bazaar were also destroyed by firing.

Yak Mach police station is located on N-40 Quetta Taftan trade route highway, which is a sensitive and remote area of district Chagai.

On information of incident police and security institutions immediately cordoned off area and investigations have been started and search operation is also underway in area to search for accused. So far no group has claimed responsibility for attack.

Several incidents have also occurred in Chagai during past months in which government installations and commercial vehicles were targeted. Authorities have further tightened security in area while further results of investigations are awaited.
