Protection of political interests should not be done under guise of terrorism, talk at Adiala Road Dahgal checkpost

Rawalpindi: Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar has said that whatever government had to do it has done, now it should reverse it, protection of political interests should not be done under guise of terrorism.

Talking to media at Rawalpindi Adiala Road Dahgal checkpost, he said that on 24 and 25 November 2024 my meetings were held with founder, on 25 November my three meetings were held with founder, on 25 November meetings were held in morning, afternoon and night, during meeting there was phone talk with Ali Amin Gandapur, Ali Amin told founder that you get video statement recorded, determine place so that sit there, I got phone call from Adiala that you come, founder PTI wants to record video statement, I also got this message from Umar Ayub, when I came to Adiala on 25 November then reached at 12 o'clock at night, in middle of night founder cannot come from his cell to conference room, therefore I was sent to founder's cell, I went to founder's cell that founder said remember in video statement I will condole martyrdom of Rangers.

Barrister Gohar said that founder did not refuse to record statement, just founder's demand was that Gohar should record from his mobile so that there is no tampering, founder said Ali Amin should stay where he is, you come again tomorrow, will get video recorded, my mobile was with jail people, mobile from which video statement had to be recorded was of jail people.

He said that founder PTI is such a prisoner of this country whose meetings have been closed for one year, demand of meeting with founder itself has become reason for governor rule in KP, we oppose all kinds of terrorism, on sacrifices of army we said these will not go waste, there is one group which does not want tension between PTI and institutions to end, these are rejected people who claim that if PTI people come they will attack, our fort made with vote in KP has been demolished, governor rule is illegal and unconstitutional step, we had government in only one province, that too was snatched, sisters of founder PTI were kept in jail against tradition, protection of political interests should not be done under guise of terrorism, we are sitting with government unconditionally.

Barrister Gohar said that government disappointed us, in our long march demands were meeting with founder, treatment and phone talk with children, government wanted to sit with us and solve terrorism and wanted to talk on provincial matters, we even today want National Action Plan to be implemented, we do not want war against terrorism to be affected, whatever government had to do it has done, now it should be reversed, should not have risen from negotiation table, if we did not have authority then why would we sit in negotiations? There is one group which does not want political stability in country.

He said that government changed DCs, imposed Section 144 and plaques on our projects are also being uprooted, hatred is increasing due to ongoing government measures in KP, if government says that KP government is supporting terrorists then at international level you have damaged image of Pakistan.

Chairman PTI said that Imran Khan made Achakzai Opposition Leader, we never raised question on it, Mashal Yousafzai has crossed line, we are issuing notice to her, there is no truth in things Mashal Yousafzai has said.

He said that Sohail Afridi's statement regarding Pakistan flag is made from AI, he was Chief Minister, he had taken oath under Constitution, I was in negotiation committee, we tried hard that matter be resolved politically, our three members were sitting there, during negotiations our consultation was held with KP leadership, it is wrong that our negotiation committee was getting instructions from KP, in my knowledge during negotiations there was no mention anywhere of Murad Saeed's consultation, I answered Mohsin Naqvi's talks on floor of assembly.

He further said that no talk has been held regarding making Maulana Fazlur Rehman Opposition Leader, founder has given authority to Achakzai Sahib, no talk can be held on it.
