Shannon Tan Secures Third Place at Hero Women’s Indian Open
The Singaporean golfer concluded her title defense with a solid performance in Gurugram.

Singaporean professional golfer Shannon Tan delivered a commendable performance at the 2026 Hero Women’s Indian Open, finishing in third place at the prestigious event. Competing at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram, Tan concluded the tournament with a four-day total of 4-under 284. Her final round featured an even-par 72, rounding out a consistent effort in the US$500,000 competition.
While Tan entered the tournament as the defending champion following her dramatic victory in 2025, she was unable to retain the trophy this year. The top honors went to Thailand’s Pornanong Phatlum, who secured the title with an impressive 11-under 277 total. India’s Vani Kapoor claimed the runner-up position, finishing four strokes ahead of the Singaporean star.
Throughout the week, Tan demonstrated the resilience that has become a hallmark of her professional career. Despite facing a challenging field that included elite talent from the Ladies European Tour (LET), she remained in contention for the podium until the final holes. Her third-place finish adds another notable result to her growing resume, which includes multiple LET titles since she turned professional in 2024.
This year’s edition of the Indian Open highlighted the depth of talent in women’s golf, with players like Pranavi Urs also putting in strong performances. For Tan, the result serves as a testament to her continued consistency at the highest levels of the sport, maintaining her status as one of the region's most formidable competitors on the international stage.
