Reckitt Lowers Annual Sales Forecast Following Lysol Supply Disruptions
Manufacturing constraints in North America force the consumer goods giant to trim its full-year growth expectations.

Reckitt Benckiser Group has officially reduced its financial outlook for the year, citing significant manufacturing hurdles that hindered the distribution of its popular Lysol cleaning products across the United States. The company, which also manages brands such as Durex and Gaviscon, reported that these supply chain bottlenecks prevented it from fulfilling consumer demand, leading to a 1.3% decline in like-for-like revenue within the North American market during the third quarter.
As a result of these regional challenges and a slower-than-anticipated performance in its Chinese vitamin segment, the firm has adjusted its full-year growth forecast. Reckitt now anticipates like-for-like sales growth for its core business to land between 3.5% and 4.5%, a downward revision from its previous guidance of 4% to 5%.
CEO Kris Licht acknowledged the frustration caused by the supply issues, noting that while consumer interest in Lysol remains robust, the company simply could not produce enough inventory to keep pace with market needs. The firm is currently working to resolve these temporary capacity constraints and expects a recovery in the fourth quarter as production stabilizes.
Beyond the manufacturing issues in North America, the company is navigating a complex global economic landscape. Reports indicate that Reckitt has implemented selective price increases in certain regions, partly as a strategic response to rising operational costs linked to the ongoing conflict in Iran. Investors have reacted to the news with caution as the company balances these external pressures with its efforts to maintain market share in the household goods sector.
