Protection of Harmain is top priority; in case of any aggression, collective deterrence of Makkah Alliance will come into action, spokesperson of Pak Army

It is necessary to avoid further spreading conflict ongoing in Middle East, solution to issues lies only in negotiations, DG ISPR

DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that protection of Harmain Sharifain is top priority, in case of any aggression collective deterrence of Makkah Alliance will come into action.

In interview given to Arab TV, he clarified that in ongoing conflict of Middle East, in case of failure of negotiations or any military confrontation, collective deterrence of Makkah Alliance will become active.

He said that Makkah Joint Defence Agreement is result of vision of 3 countries which has moved forward rapidly in very short time. He emphasized that sovereignty of Saudi Arabia and protection of Harmain Sharifain holds status of red line for Pakistan.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that no compromise is possible on sanctity of Harmain Sharifain. In this regard stance of Pakistani political and military leadership is unequivocal. In case of any aggression on holy places, intense grief and anger is found among people and state, therefore no one will benefit from further expanding conflict.

Spokesperson of Pak Army said that Makkah Alliance has no aggressive intent, however this alliance is determined for promotion of peace and security in region. This partnership of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye is not against any specific country but has been established for sustainable stability and prosperity in region.

He further said that Muslim Ummah should focus on unity and solidarity instead of fighting among themselves. Avoiding further spreading ongoing military conflict in Middle East is inevitable because solution to issues lies only in negotiations, otherwise Makkah Alliance will fulfill its defence responsibilities in any case.
