Peshawar: After Governor's Rule, Emergency, Prime Minister's first visit to Peshawar, important decisions expected

Sources said Prime Minister will be briefed on law and order situation

An extremely important meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Apex Committee under chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif regarding overall security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is being held today at Governor House Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to sources, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, federal and provincial ministers and relevant officials are participating in important meeting, top military leadership is participating in most important meeting of Apex Committee.

Sources said that in meeting, overall security situation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and measures against terrorism are being reviewed, joint strategy is being considered for elimination of terrorism and establishment of sustainable peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, development measures including security will also be discussed in Apex Committee.

After imposition of Governor's Rule and Emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has gone to Peshawar on his first visit.

Prime Minister will be briefed on law and order situation. Finance Minister Aurangzeb, Law Minister Nazir Azam Tarar and Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam are also present with Prime Minister.

Earlier, members of Provincial Advisory Council reached Governor House to meet Prime Minister, relevant officials of Regional Development Secretariat are also present in Governor House.
