On-Chain Trading for Tokenized Stocks and ETFs Hits $37 Billion
New data highlights a massive surge in blockchain-based equity trading as volume grows 18-fold since the start of the year.

The landscape of digital finance is shifting rapidly as tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) continue to gain significant traction. According to a recent report from Dune Analytics, on-chain trading volume for these assets reached an impressive $37 billion during the third quarter of 2026. This figure represents a staggering 18-fold increase in activity compared to the levels observed in January, signaling a robust appetite for blockchain-integrated traditional securities.
This surge in volume is supported by data from over 200 distinct trading venues and 12 different blockchain networks. The growth is largely driven by the convenience of 24/7 market access, which allows investors to trade outside the traditional constraints of the standard Wall Street schedule. Industry metrics indicate that a substantial majority of trading on major networks like BNB Chain, Solana, and Base now occurs after regular market hours.
Individual product milestones further underscore this trend. Binance’s bStocks, which provide 1:1 tokenized representations of U.S.-listed equities, recently became the fastest product of its kind to surpass $1 billion in assets under management. Since their launch in June, these tokens have facilitated over $40 billion in cumulative trading volume, highlighting the efficiency of moving capital between traditional and digital formats.
While the total market capitalization of tokenized stocks has climbed to approximately $3.8 billion—a 483% increase since the beginning of the year—analysts note that this remains a small fraction of the global equity market. Nevertheless, the velocity of capital is accelerating, with assets moving significantly faster on-chain than in previous months. As issuers expand across diverse networks, the dominance of early leaders like Ethereum is being challenged by more active, high-throughput chains.
Despite the rapid expansion, the sector continues to navigate a complex regulatory environment. While non-U.S. markets currently account for a vast majority of global on-chain trading volume, the ongoing integration of tokenized assets into decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystems suggests that the bridge between traditional finance and blockchain technology is becoming a permanent fixture of the modern investment landscape.
