NHA's road is of poor quality, Chairman does not even attend phone, Standing Committee annoyed

Sukkur to Shikarpur road built for 70 crores which broke, NHA does bad work, we are answerable before public, members

Islamabad: Some members of National Assembly's Standing Committee on Communications expressed annoyance over performance and behavior of Chairman NHA and other officials, MNA Hameed Hussain said that Chairman NHA Asadullah did not even attend my telephone even till today he did not even bother to answer my telephone.

On Tuesday meeting of National Assembly's Standing Committee on Communications was held in NHA Auditorium under chairmanship of Chairman Committee Ijaz Hussain Jakhrani in which Chairman Committee directed that briefing be given regarding recommendations of committee.

As soon as meeting started MNA Hameed Hussain said that Chairman NHA does not attend our phone nor gives time to meet, of what thing I am MNA? Does not even reply to phone, on which he walked out in protest.

MNA Agha Rafiullah and other members persuaded Hameed Hussain. MNA Agha Rafiullah said that NHA's road is of poor quality.

MNA Shahryar Khan Mehr said that Sukkur to Shikarpur road was built for 70 crore rupees which is suffering from breakage.

NHA officials told that GM has been removed after inquiry but he has taken stay. Shahryar Khan Mehr said that probably again appearance is on November 21.

Member Sindh NHA said that Sukkur Shikarpur road was built 15 years ago. Secretary Communications Sher Ali Mehsud said that regarding this road will check all things and tell.

MNA Shahryar Mehr said that we feel 70 crore rupees have been wasted. MNA Bilal Badr said that when road breaks public humiliates us, you people make us fool, you do bad work and we have to be answerable.

Agha Rafiullah said that he is satisfied with performance of Motorway Police, people of KP have to enter inside Islamabad to go to Islamabad Airport, there should be direct route for those coming from KP.

NHA officials told that work is being advanced in this regard, route will be built soon. Agha Rafiullah suggested that a report be sought in which it is known where are highways of NHA, report should not be of all good.

Chairman Committee said that PD of this project will sit in Hyderabad or Sukkur, will not allow to sit in Islamabad.

In meeting regarding Sialkot to Kharian Motorway it was told that it will be completed till December 2027.
