Murder of divorced wife; ex-husband and brother-in-law sentenced to life imprisonment

Accused had divorced wife three months before murder and was also preventing deceased from second marriage, prosecution

Peshawar: Swabi Sessions Court has sentenced the nominated ex-husband and his brother to life imprisonment in the murder case of a divorced wife.

Additional District and Sessions Mubarak Zeb Khan heard the case, upon proof of guilt the court sentenced both brothers to life imprisonment.

The court ordered both accused to pay Rs 1 million as compensation to the heirs of the deceased.

Prosecution argued that accused Alhaf Din along with brother Fareeduddin killed his divorced wife Mst. Rasheeda Bibi resident of Jalbai in the brother-in-law's house, accused Alhafuddin had divorced his wife three months before the murder and accused Alhaf was preventing his divorced wife from second marriage.

Prosecution argued that the injured woman had recorded her statement to police in hospital due to firing by accused, incident occurred on September 11, 2023 in Tordher, Swabi.

After completion of trial of incident and proof of crime, court sentenced both accused to life imprisonment.
