More opportunities for Pakistanis to get education through British partnership

Opportunity to get Master's degrees with full financial support in universities

Chevening and Allied Bank have joined hands to provide fully funded Master's degrees in prestigious universities of Britain.

British government's 'Chevening Program' and Allied Bank Limited have started a new partnership, through which talented Pakistanis will get opportunity to get Master's degrees with full financial support in prestigious universities of Britain.

Allied Bank is first such organization at local level providing funds in Pakistan which has established partnership for 'Chevening Scholarship'. Through this step, Britain's most important international scholarship program and Pakistan's private sector are together investing in next generation of Pakistani leaders.

Chevening program has partnership with more than 140 institutions, which include private companies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), foreign government departments and British universities.

Under Chevening-ABL Scholarship, support will be provided to two scholars (students) every year during three academic years starting from 2027-28.

These students will get education in subjects important for Pakistan's future development, which include artificial intelligence, technology, cyber security, digital transformation, economics and financial inclusion.

British High Commissioner Jane Marriott said that Pakistan's biggest strength is its people. This partnership will help future talented leaders to get education in Britain's world-class universities and bring new ideas obtained from there back to their homeland.

Jane Marriott said that it is especially welcoming that a former 'Chevening Scholar' is now opening same door for next generation (which was once opened for him).

This partnership holds status of memorable turn for President and CEO of Allied Bank, Aizid Gill, who himself in 2001 as a 'Chevening Scholar' obtained MSc Business Economics degree from University of Manchester. After twenty-five years, he is now helping to provide same opportunity for new generation of Pakistani students.

President and CEO of Allied Bank Limited, Aizid Gill said that purpose of ABL-Chevening Scholarship is to provide opportunity to talented Pakistanis to learn, advance and bring experiences and observations obtained there back to their homeland.

Through this partnership, Allied Bank is further strengthening its support to prepare next generation of leaders. We hope that this cooperation will help them to obtain necessary knowledge and skills due to which they will be able to serve country.
