Michigan Man Faces Federal Charges for Threatening FBI Director
A Chesterfield Township resident is in custody after allegedly sending violent threats to FBI Director Kash Patel and federal agents.

Federal authorities have taken a 42-year-old Michigan man into custody following allegations that he issued violent threats against FBI Director Kash Patel and an unnamed associate. Anthony Daniel Palazzolo, a resident of Chesterfield Township, was arrested on Friday and now faces formal charges related to interstate communications involving threats.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Detroit, the incident began on October 8 when Palazzolo allegedly sent a message via Facebook to an associate of the Director. In the communication, the suspect claimed to have "put a hit out" on the individual and explicitly stated that Director Patel was also a target for harm.
Following an initial interview with FBI agents at his residence, where he reportedly admitted to sending the message while claiming he had no actual intent to carry out the violence, the situation escalated. Prosecutors allege that Palazzolo subsequently initiated a series of harassing phone calls to a Detroit-based FBI agent. During these calls, he reportedly threatened to visit the office to deploy deadly force against federal personnel, including members of the FBI and the Secret Service.
Court documents indicate that the suspect had previously expressed grievances to federal agencies regarding what he perceived as violations of his property rights. Following his arrest, Palazzolo appeared in U.S. District Court in Detroit, where he was ordered to remain in detention. A formal detention hearing has been scheduled to further address the matter.
