Governor rule and emergency in KP is to control province's minerals, Fazlur Rehman

At this time force is being used at behest of powerful, if we or anyone have complaints then in-camera session of Parliament should be called

Islamabad: JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that government narrative for governor rule and emergency in KP is baseless, this all is to control province's minerals.

While holding press conference after party's Majlis-e-Shura, he said that in-camera session of Parliament should be called on current situation and briefed about situation, no member of JUI will be included in interim council being formed in KP, at this time force is being used at behest of powerful forces, President of State did not fulfill requirements of Constitution, we disagreed even while being in government, we also agree while being in opposition.

He said that I want to inform about decisions of central Majlis-e-Shura of JUI, our party believes in political dialogue, if there are reservations on government policies then instead of accusations answer should be given in political manner, if we or anyone have complaints then in-camera session of Parliament should be called and talked.

He said that we reject governor rule in KP, government narrative for governor rule is baseless, many operations were conducted but what results were obtained? Government of Muslim League (N) included FATA in province, today same Muslim League (N) has given former FATA to center, in our view this all is to control minerals of province, government should call in-camera session of Parliament, governor rule is unjustified, no member of JUI will be included in formation of councils, removal and making of power should be according to Constitution instead of force, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari imposed governor rule, was it accepted at that time? President negated constitutional requirement by signing without satisfaction.

He said that no single power can represent interest of nation, today Asia is again becoming economic hub at global level, we should make action plan keeping future requirements in front, there should be one bloc of Islamic world, Islamic Conference is an ineffective bloc, there should be an effective bloc, Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia are attempt to stop Muslim unity.

Maulana said that due to terrorism we also picked up more than one hundred and fifty dead bodies, we negated politics of gun, Pervez Musharraf gave new system and that system failed, police was made unrelated to administration and then talks of taking it back were held, today again after 25 years talks are being held to restore same system.

He said that on integration of FATA we said there should be extensive consultation on it but decision was imposed entirely on people of FATA, emergency has also been imposed in same districts, elders of FATA were called and asked about integration, in these meetings it has been agreed that this process has failed, there was relationship of respect with Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and Asif Zardari before also and even today, Colin Powell had said proposal to send army to FATA was ours, we have no disagreement with investment but why only America is taking interest? These things should be kept for nation.

He said that we are calling FATA Jirga, we will call students convention in Islamabad, we will hold public gathering in Sargodha on November 26, Shura has said new elections should be held, we do not accept election results of 2018 and 2024, we are not asking certificate of patriotism from anyone, we have taken oath in Parliament and we keep it.
