Formula One Secures Future at Interlagos Through 2035
A new five-year contract extension ensures the Brazilian Grand Prix remains a staple of the F1 calendar.

Formula One has officially confirmed a five-year contract extension for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, guaranteeing that the sport will continue to visit the historic Interlagos circuit through the 2035 season. This new agreement builds upon the previous deal, which was set to expire in 2030, further cementing Brazil's role as a cornerstone of the global racing calendar.
Known officially as the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, the venue has been a fixture in the championship since 1973. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali praised the renewal, highlighting the extraordinary passion of Brazilian fans and the circuit's deep-rooted connection to the sport's history. He emphasized that the decision reflects both the past significance and the future potential of racing in the region.
As part of the arrangement, the city of Sao Paulo has committed to significant infrastructure investments aimed at modernizing the facility and enhancing the overall experience for spectators. Mayor Ricardo Nunes noted that the event serves as a major economic driver, creating jobs and boosting tourism, which justifies the city's ongoing financial support for the race.
Interlagos remains the sole South American stop on the current F1 schedule and is widely celebrated by drivers and teams for its challenging, atmospheric layout. With this long-term commitment now in place, organizers are focused on building upon the event's success to ensure it remains one of the most anticipated weekends in motorsport for the next decade.
