Field Marshal contacted by Iranian Foreign Minister, consultation on regional situation

Telephone contact was made when the Iranian Foreign Minister was in China on an official visit

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has been contacted by telephone by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in which the regional situation was discussed.

According to media reports, the Field Marshal and the Iranian Foreign Minister held detailed discussions on various matters of mutual interest including important regional issues.

The Iranian state news agency, confirming this development, said that this telephone contact was made when the Iranian Foreign Minister was in China on an official visit.
Both leaders exchanged views with each other in the context of the latest developments in the region and emphasized mutual cooperation. During the conversation, the Pak-Iran border situation and joint efforts to establish sustainable peace in the region were also discussed.

On the other hand, military and diplomatic circles are describing this contact as extremely important in the context of the current situation in the region, aimed at further improving coordination between the two neighboring countries regarding regional security.
