East Bengal FC Crowned Inaugural SAFF Women’s Club Champions
The Kolkata giants secured a historic 3-0 victory over Nepal’s APF FC to claim the first-ever regional title.

East Bengal FC has etched its name into the history books by winning the inaugural SAFF Women’s Club Championship. In a commanding performance held at the Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu, the Indian side defeated Nepal’s Armed Police Force (APF) FC with a decisive 3-0 scoreline to lift the trophy. This victory marks a significant milestone for Indian women’s football on the international stage.
Under the guidance of coach Anthony Andrews, the team maintained an unbeaten run throughout the tournament, demonstrating tactical superiority and clinical finishing. The final match served as a testament to the squad's dominance, as they effectively neutralized their opponents to secure the regional crown.
This triumph is particularly notable as it completes a historic treble for the club this season. Having already secured the Indian Women’s League (IWL) title and the Calcutta Women’s Football League (Kanyashree Cup), East Bengal FC has solidified its status as the premier force in Indian women’s club football.
As the first Indian club to achieve this international success, the team has provided a major boost to the sport's profile in the region. The players were celebrated for their resilience and technical prowess, capping off a remarkable year of domestic and continental achievements.
