Early Exits for Sindhu and Sen at Denmark Open

The Denmark Open 2026 proved to be a challenging outing for India's top badminton talent, as both PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen faced early exits from the prestigious BWF Super 750 tournament. Despite high expectations heading into the event in Odense, both athletes were unable to advance past their initial opponents in the opening round.

Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu entered the tournament looking to build on her recent form, but she was unable to overcome the hurdles presented in her draw. Her early departure marks a difficult start to the competition, as she struggled to find the necessary momentum to progress against a highly competitive field.

Similarly, Lakshya Sen, who has previously demonstrated his ability to compete at the highest levels of international badminton, also saw his campaign cut short. The men's singles star, who has been managing fitness concerns recently, could not secure a victory in his opening match, resulting in a disappointing conclusion to his time at the tournament.

While the singles stars faced setbacks, the Indian contingent saw mixed results elsewhere, with other players like Kidambi Srikanth and Tanvi Sharma managing to advance to the second round. The tournament, which carries a significant prize purse of $950,000, continues to test the world's best players as they navigate the demanding BWF circuit.
