Chief Minister never bothered to stand with army on operations in KP, Mohsin Naqvi

Met Sohail Afridi many times, every time he said politically cannot afford operation in KP, statement in Parliament

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that Chief Minister KP Sohail Afridi never bothered to stand with army even once in operations against terrorists in KP and every time said politically cannot afford operation.

Addressing joint session of Parliament Mohsin Naqvi said that we were not at all in favour of imposing Governor's rule, we tried our best that action against terrorism should take place in KP, we wanted that this fight is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's fight just you lead but KP government was not ready to lead, and nor did they ever condemn terrorism, get all press releases out you will not find condemnation anywhere.

Mohsin Naqvi said that I personally met Chief Minister KP Sohail Afridi many times, we decided that we will strengthen police in five districts so that it can take action, this matter I had decided myself after meeting Sohail Afridi but later who gives him instructions is separate matter.

Mohsin Naqvi said that we did not get up and leave negotiations, we also did not give any time limit, every time we came and negotiated, they waved a paper and said that all conditions in it were of KP government which we accepted last line was ours, we said do long march also.

He said that when you get chance ask Sohail Afridi whenever issue of money for KP came I took CM to Prime Minister, tried to solve each and every problem of his, till last hour our effort was that emergency should not be imposed in those twelve districts, CM Sohail Afridi never once bothered to stand with army for operation and every time said politically cannot afford operation.

Mohsin Naqvi said that this is not from now we tried in August September or even before that KP government should cooperate against terrorism but it did not agree and nor did they own operation.

He once again offered negotiations that big leaders of PTI should come and talk and decide there, you also come with authority we will also come with authority from our PM and whatever talk will be there it will not be that we come after asking.

He read some points of negotiations and said that first point was meeting of opposition leaders and Prime Minister, second point was formation of political committee, third that whoever has legal right should be given which includes treatment and meetings, fourth point was to implement National Action Plan in terrorism in KP this was made by PTI government itself.

Mohsin Naqvi said that heart is sad on imposing Governor's rule and emergency we are not at all happy, we used to go to funerals in Peshawar but people of provincial government did not come it should not be said that we misused terrorism, martyrdom of jawans happens in Bannu and next day Chief Minister delivers speech against army.

He further said that Mehmood Khan Achakzai is asking us to swear for Form 47, Mehmood Khan Achakzai should first swear for his own seat, I cannot swear for people sitting here but you swear for your seat did you come after winning?
