Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was forced to leave Sunday's 9-3 defeat against the Minnesota Vikings after sustaining a right hamstring injury. The incident occurred with approximately seven and a half minutes remaining in the fourth quarter while the star signal-caller was scrambling deep within Minnesota territory. Williams immediately grabbed his leg and appeared to be in significant pain before medical staff assisted him off the rain-soaked field at Soldier Field.

Following his departure, the 24-year-old quarterback was transported to the locker room via cart. Despite the visible frustration of the situation, Williams briefly engaged with the crowd of 58,914, pumping his arm as he was moved along the sideline. Backup quarterback Tyson Bagent stepped in to finish the contest, though the Bears' offense struggled to find the end zone in the low-scoring defensive battle.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson addressed the media after the game, noting that while Williams was in good spirits, the team would not have a clear understanding of the injury's severity until further medical evaluation. Johnson expressed relief that the issue did not appear to involve the knee, though he acknowledged the potential impact of a hamstring strain. Williams is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the damage.

Prior to the injury, Williams had completed 15 of 26 passes for 138 yards and one interception, while also contributing 42 rushing yards on five carries. Reports from the locker room following the game indicated that Williams was seen walking under his own power, providing a glimmer of optimism for the team. The Bears now face an anxious wait as they prepare for the upcoming week of play without a definitive timeline for their starting quarterback's return.
