BMW M Team WRT celebrated a significant triumph at the Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo on July 12, 2026, marking the manufacturer's second win of the current FIA World Endurance Championship season. The #15 BMW M Hybrid V8, piloted by Kevin Magnussen, Raffaele Marciello, and Dries Vanthoor, navigated a highly competitive field to secure the top spot on the podium. This victory represents a career milestone for Magnussen, who celebrated his first-ever World Endurance Championship win.

The race at the iconic Interlagos circuit was defined by an intense, high-stakes struggle between BMW, Ferrari, and Cadillac. Despite Cadillac entering the event with a front-row lockout, the team struggled during their initial pit stops, which allowed the competition to close the gap and shift the momentum of the race. The #15 BMW crew, having started from the fourth position, executed a disciplined strategy that kept them in contention throughout the six-hour endurance test.

As the event reached its final stages, the pressure intensified. Dries Vanthoor faced a formidable challenge from the #51 AF Corse Ferrari 499P, driven by James Calado, as well as the recovering #12 Cadillac. Maintaining composure under immense strain, Vanthoor successfully defended his lead to cross the finish line just 2.254 seconds ahead of the Ferrari. The #12 Cadillac, featuring Will Stevens and Norman Nato, rounded out the podium in third place.

This result serves as a major boost for BMW’s championship aspirations, proving the team's ability to capitalize on opportunities in a tightly contested field. With 11 cars finishing on the lead lap and minimal interruptions from yellow flags, the race was widely regarded as one of the most absorbing and unpredictable rounds of the 2026 season. The victory in Brazil effectively tightens the competition at the top of the standings as the series progresses.
