BCCI Unveils 15-Player Roster for 2026 Women's T20 World Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially confirmed the 15-member squad that will represent the nation at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The selection, finalized during a committee meeting at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai, sets the stage for India's pursuit of the global title in the United Kingdom this summer.

Veteran batter Harmanpreet Kaur has been retained as the team captain, with Smriti Mandhana serving as her deputy. The squad announcement highlights a blend of experienced campaigners and fresh talent, including the return of Yastika Bhatia following her recovery from surgery and the comeback of spinner Radha Yadav. Additionally, the roster features a maiden call-up for Nandni Sharma, who earned her spot following an impressive performance in the Women's Premier League.

The team is scheduled to compete in the tournament from June 12 to July 5, 2026, with the final match set to take place at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. Before the World Cup begins, the same group of players will participate in a three-match series against England, providing crucial preparation time for the squad.

India has been drawn into Group 1, where they will face formidable opponents including Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands. The selection committee noted that while some players were unavailable due to injury, the final lineup provides the necessary depth and versatility to compete at the highest level of international cricket.
