15-Year-Old Arrested Following Mass Shooting Near Florida A&M Stadium

A violent incident occurred on Saturday night near the Bragg Memorial Stadium at Florida A&M University, leaving 11 individuals with gunshot wounds. The shooting took place shortly before 8 p.m. near the intersection of Perry and Manatee streets, occurring just hours after the conclusion of the university's homecoming football game against the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. In addition to those struck by gunfire, a 12th person—the grandmother of one of the victims—sustained injuries while attempting to flee the area.

Tallahassee police confirmed that the victims included six adults and six juveniles, with the youngest gunshot victim being only 11 years old. Following the event, authorities reported that three individuals suffered serious injuries, with one person remaining in critical condition. By Sunday morning, five of the victims had been discharged from medical care, while six others continued to receive treatment.

Law enforcement officials acted quickly, resulting in the arrest of a 15-year-old suspect. The individual faces multiple charges, including 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a delinquent. Police Chief Lawrence Revell indicated that the investigation remains active and that further arrests could potentially follow as detectives continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the violence.

While the shooting occurred in the vicinity of the stadium, officials have not yet determined if the incident was directly linked to the homecoming festivities. The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff issued a statement confirming that none of their students, players, or supporters were among those harmed. Local authorities continue to process the scene and gather evidence to ensure a thorough investigation into this mass shooting.
